Banana OG is a hybrid strain originally cultivated by West Coast breeder OrgnKid, who discovered its unique traits after winning a bag of seeds in an auction on Seed Bay. The resulting plants were short, stocky, and had ultra-thin branches, emitting a strong banana aroma with a delightful taste. OrgnKid crossed a male Banana plant with an OG Kush female, creating the distinctive Banana OG.

Apothecary Genetics also developed their version of Banana OG by crossing an OG Kush male with a Banana Kush female. This variant is known for its overripe banana scent, complemented by an earthy, fruity, and tropical flavor.
